Change 4 Life have paved the way for a new campaign focusing on the risks to health when youngsters consume too much sugar. Research has found that on average, children are consuming three times more sugar than they should be, based on the maximum recommended daily allowance. By highlighting the sugar content in certain foods, the campaign hopes to raise the awareness of sugar content and turn people away from sugary foods and towards healthier alternatives. Yesterday saw the first of two qualifying badminton sessions for Key Stage 3 boys in Chesterfield schools.
The National Schools Badminton Championships is split into KS3 and KS4 boys and girls tournaments, with the top two teams from each qualifier progressing to the Chesterfield final. Winners then have the chance to progress all the way to the National Finals, held at the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes. Continue reading
At the end of last month Derbyshire County Cricket Club announced an extra date in the calendar for county cricket at Chesterfield’s picturesque Queen’s Park.
