Today the big event finally arrived as the Silver Young Ambassador Conference took place at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
Over 80 Silver Young Ambassadors from secondary schools in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire descended on the Steel City for the all-day conference. Continue reading
At the Chesterfield School Sport Partnership we teamed up with our counterparts in North East Derbyshire to deliver a number of leadership courses across the half-term break.

The Chesterfield School Sport Partnership extended its leadership programme today by introducing a Peer Leader Conference for Young Ambassadors for the first time.
The all-day event, utilising guidelines from the Youth Sport Trust, was designed to give Bronze Young Ambassadors in primary schools the skills to mentor other leaders and help each other. The Youth Sport Trust is running a National Talent Camp for the country’s most promising young leaders and coaches. The young coaches will learn how to motivate participants and encourage more people to get involved. Far from having a slow start to the new academic year, today’s inset day saw four leadership events take place at Brookfield Community School and Tupton Hall Secondary School.
78 students from schools across Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire took part in the courses as part of the Leadership Academy. Designed to boost confidence and train sports leaders for the future, the initiative is already in full-swing ahead of the start of term. Continue reading
The Leadership Academy’s 62 new students enjoyed a jam-packed team-building event at Queen’s Park Sports Centre today.
