Players’ Kit Scheme 2016 open for applications

School and district teams can now apply for new kit in latest edition of Premier League programme

This season’s Premier League Players’ Kit Scheme has now opened for applications from schools and district teams across the country.
The Scheme, which is now in its fifth year, sees players from each of the 20 Premier League Clubs donate funds for full team kits (of 15 strips) to school groups and district teams who apply online via this link.  Continue reading

Top women’s cyclists coming to Chesterfield

Derbyshire will welcome the Aviva Women’s Tour for the first time this June, as the world’s top racers head to the county for Stage Three on Friday 17 June 2016.

Building on the success of hosting the Tour of Britain last September, the Aviva Women’s Tour will race from Ashbourne to Chesterfield. It is being billed as the toughest stage of the race.  Continue reading

Step into Sport Conference introduces students to inclusive sport

28 young leaders from Chesterfield, Bolsover and North East School Sport Partnerships took part in our North Derbyshire Step into Sport Conference. The young leaders, joined by Sports Leaders from Chesterfield College, learned a great deal about social inclusion and how to take their skills back to school and run events of their own. Derbyshire to host 2017 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup

Derbyshire County Cricket Club has been successful in its bid for Derby to be a host city at the 2017 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that Derby will be one of five venues across England to host fixtures at next summer’s world cup.
