The Bag4Sport Foundation Small Grant Fund is open and available to clubs and projects which need extra support, for example with coaching, equipment or kit. Grants of up to £500 are available.
Bag4Sport Foundation was set up to address the funding deficit holding back sporting talent in the UK at all levels. The charity was officially launched in November 2011 by Olympic gold medallist Tessa Sanderson CBE, and has not looked back since, having held numerous fundraising activities and raising public awareness of the financial difficulties sports clubs and athletes of all abilities face today.
Money raised and donated is used to pay out small grants of up to £500 to:
Grass root sports clubs, where in today’s economic environment funding for sustainability is very difficult and/or impossible to obtain.
Young, talented up-and-coming athletes of all levels and abilities striving to make it to the next level.
Established athletes suffering financially following government funding cuts.
Disadvantaged children giving them the opportunity to take part in sport to help improve social skills.
Individual athletes (up-and-coming, elite, able-bodied or disabled) are also eligible to apply for a small grant of up to £500 to assist with training costs, kit and travel costs. Please note that groups must demonstrate that last year’s income or expected income if starting up, is less than £10K.
